More than 250 full boxes of non-perishable food, hygiene articles, handicraft material and stationery, were collected from supermarkets in the city of Winterberg on 4 and 5 November.

Customers of the supermarkets were asked if they would like to buy one or more predetermined products in addition to their shopping list and donate to support children's and disabled homes in Ukraine.

About 70 people in teams were on duty during these two days. Participants were helpers from the Caritas conferences Siedlinghausen and Winterberg, the churches and Kipepeo-fair und sozial e.V., and several Ukrainian people who currently live in the city of Winterberg - a great cooperation with very good success. There was also the possibility to make a donation and received sum of 3,079.00 (!) Euro.

Some retail stores also donated goods and the city of Winterberg also participated with words and deeds.

The collected cartons were transported Saturday afternoon in two transporters from the company BNT

Spedition GmbH from Niedersfeld was loaded with combined forces and immediately transported to the interim storage facility in Berlin. From there it goes from 16 to 20 November to the Ukraine and during this aid trip the selected houses in the vicinity of Lviv (West-Ukraine) and distribute the donations.

The distribution is made to specially selected institutions where little or no help has arrived outside Lviv.

This trip is accompanied by representatives of Kipepeo from Winterberg. In the coming weeks, they will report on the further course.

Many thanks to all donors and all helpers in this great campaign.
